Vehicles Covered Under Pennsylvania Auto Lemon Law

Lemon law in PA covers new, unused motor vehicles that are driven on public roads/streets/highways, are designed to carry not more than 15 people and that were bought or initially registered in Pennsylvania.

Does NOT cover motorcycles, motor homes or off-road vehicles

It’s a Lemon If…

During the first year since the car was delivered, the first 12,000 miles or during the warranty period (whichever is earlier) there were three or more repair attempts to the same defect or the vehicle was out of service for 30 or more calendar days.

Time Period for Filing Claims

Not specified in the Pennsylvania lemon law. However, the UCC statute of limitations applies, which is four years from the date the alleged defect is discovered.
